Letter to Amir

Dear Amir:

           I'm very happy for you, having the chance for a fresh start on the States. I care about you like my own son, and that is why I tell you this. You and my son have a good relationship, even though both are differnet in many ways especially in our religion. Let me give you and advice, think that culture define your identity on many positive ways, I think that your identity is a product of your personality Amir in the context of the culture you are in. Your personality is who you are inside, what you are usually calm and not much can anger you, is it easy for you to think logically, are you comfortable socially? These traits will always be the same, no matter where you grow up. This includes your talents. Think of your personality traits as the colours a painter can use. The culture you grow up in is like the medium you paint on. You can apply the same colours to a canvas, a piece of straightened bark, the wall of a house. Each result will look different. I don't know why you are very jalous of Hassan, but is like you create some inequality between you and Hassan. Maybe you feel superior to him, such as when you are reading. LIke you, I know what you are passing through; it is difficult to handle it but is not too late for asking for help.  I hope both of you can fix things up. Take care, Ali.

Cultural influences have a lot to contribute to our development as human beings, it can lead us to a different perspective of life or it can deteriorate our knowledge. Our development during childhood is very important because were shown how to see people and learn from people that have more knowledge.  Our identity is influenced by our culture because when we are all born, we´re set to follow or learn from that certain culture, and as time goes on we are used to that culture´s features.  Our identity is also influenced by our culture and the way we act around our friends and family because a lot of people don't act the same around friends and family some people usually act quiet and scared while other act happy and excited.             Hello, my name is Ali and I am the father of Hassan. I grew up without my parents because they were killed, I don'r remember really how but without them I had a tough childhood, but despite hat I continue with my life, not permitting the memory of the parents hold me back. Many people said things about me, maybe are good things or maybe bad, but I think that I'm a modest man, more than anyone that I know. I'm loyal to my son Hassan, that converts me in a good father for him. I like to be kind and tolerant with others. My battle is the punishment of my physical defromities thanks to my polio illness and ethnicity. For everyone else, I am a kind and loving man. Yet, I does not have an easy life. How do opportunities differ based on an individual’s ethnicity and religion?

Hi, my name is Ali. One day while I was walking through the street it came to my mind how opportunities may differ depending on one's ethnicity or religion. When I was young I was an orphan, but thankfully a grateful family adopted me. I met a beautiful woman and had a child with her. I loved her but unfortunately, she ran away when Hassan was born. I love my son Hassan I take good care of him. I think that there are a lot of opportunities in this world. If opportunities were based religion and ethnicity the whole world would be lost in jobs, business, in other countries, and etc. . . .  I know for being Hazara and that people don't like the ethnic and it’s harder for Hazaras to find jobs because of our Ethnic group and the beliefs that we follow and believe in.
